Making things beautiful

You will often hear me say that I love to make things beautiful. And that is the truth. I really do! Not that I want to repeat myself often, but the day I realized this was a day to remember.

Let me take you there…

I was living in Northern Minnesota, and if you have never been there in the FALL…GO! (And any season really…it is just beautiful!) So, one afternoon I was driving along the shore of Lake Superior, it was a crisp fall morning and I began to just thank the Lord for making fall so beautiful. A glance in any direction was a kaleidoscope of red, orange, yellows….and then it hit me. Since, we are created in the image of God, everything we are, love about life, enjoy doing is a part of Him. And my longing to make things beautiful was something we shared. It is a trait that I love about myself that I just now (unfortunately) noticed that Christ and I have in common. How cool is that? I have something in common with the Creator of the Universe.

You know those light bulb moments, and you just think…Duh!

Yea, that was me. Driving in utter amazement.

And today, I had the privilege to design again. And every step of the way, I felt a little nudge in my spirit. I know Christ was enjoying it just as much as I.

Think of the things He designs for you and I every day. Sunsets, refreshing rain, green fields, crashing oceans….Psalms 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord has made, REJOICE and be glad in it!”
